SHOWING 'CC' BREAKDOWNS ON-SCREEN

INTRODUCTION:

The following shows the procedure to include 'CC' (Cost Category) breakdown columns in a Project.

These columns will then dynamically show the COST of  the specified 'CC' (e.g. LA,MA,SC,PE,PO,etc) at each Cost Item/Section/Project level.

PROCEDURE:

NOTE: If the CC breakdown is required only on the Summary Sheet, then you only need to do the following to the Section Names worksheet.

  1. Add the appropriate 'CC' column into each of the following DEFAULT and  EXISTING worksheets:
NOTE: The column name must be same as the CC required (e.g. LA,MA,TN,SC,PO,etc)
  2. Set the following characteristics for the 'CC' column in each of the worksheets
  3. The formula for the 'COST' column in the Section Names worksheet should be set to '[COST]'
  4. Apply these settings to the appropriate column to ALL existing worksheets.
  5. Done.

PRECAUTIONS:

EVERY worksheet of the above mentioned type MUST have a 'CC' column with the correct attributes, otherwise the 'tallying' of the COSTS will not get carried forward to the Summary.

EstimatorVJ calculates the 'CC' totals in a slightly different way when Printing and On-screen display. This enables a CHECK that all worksheets are operating correctly, by comparing the values on a printed Summary, and the total shown on-screen.

If they do not match, then one or more worksheets do not include the 'CC' column with the correct attributes.

Comparing at various levels will eventually show where the discrepancy lies.
