EMAILING

SETTING UP:

Before you can send Emails from within EstimatorVJ, you must initialize it's settings.

There are two scenarios handled by EstmatorVJ and these are described below.

Standard Email Setup - Try this first

The following procedure applies to a standard computer setup.

  1. Open the Project you wish to Email
  2. Click the 'Email' button in the Project Tab
  3. The 'VJEmail' window will open
  4. Click the 'Settings' button on the left
  5. Click the 'POP3 Internet Server' option
  6. Click 'Next'
  7. Enter the 'SMTP Server Address (example: 'mail.serviceprovider.com')

    If you don't know what this is, you can find this in your current Email Program

    • Open the program you use to send/receive Emails, and choose the menu Option 'Tools->Email Accounts'
    • Select the option 'View ... existing e-mail accounts' and click Next
    • Take a note of the NAME of the 'POP/SMTP' type
  8. Enter 'Your Email Address' (example: 'ccsmelb@ccsi.com.au')
  9. Click 'Test Settings'

If the two settings you have entered are correct, then you will receive a Successful message - click 'Finish'. You are now ready to send Emails within EstimatorVJ.

If you get an Unsuccessful message, then recheck the two settings you have entered, and if correct, try again. If still unsuccessful, then try the 'Microsoft Exchange Server' Setup below.

Microsoft Exchange Setup

The following procedure applies to a computer sitting behind an Email Server

  1. Open the Project you wish to Email
  2. Click the 'Email' button in the Project Tab
  3. The 'VJEmail' window will open
  4. Click the 'Settings' button on the left
  5. Click the 'Microsoft Exchange Server' option
  6. Click 'Next'
  7. Contact your System Administrator and obtain and enter the details requested by the setup Wizard.
  8. Click 'Test Settings'

If the two settings you have entered are correct, then you will receive a Successful message - click 'Finish'. You are now ready to send Emails within EstimatorVJ.
