SHOWING MANHOURS ON-SCREEN

INTRODUCTION:

The following shows the procedure to include a 'MHRS' column into the Project.

This column will then dynamically show the quantity of MANHOURS at each Item/Section Total/SubTotal.

Remember: Manhours is the qty of any item which has a 'CC' starting with  'LA' and has has been measured in the UNIT of 'Mhr(s)' or 'Hr(s)').

PROCEDURE:

  1. Add a 'MHRS' column into each of the following DEFAULT and  EXISTING worksheets:
NOTE: The column name must be 'Mhrs'
  2. Set the following characteristics for the 'Mhrs' column in each of the worksheets
  3. The formula for the 'COST' column in the Section Names worksheet should be set to '[COST]'
  4. Apply these settings for the 'MHRS' column to ALL existing worksheets.
  5. Done.

PRECAUTIONS:

EVERY worksheet of the above mentioned type MUST have a 'MHrs' column with the correct attributes, otherwise the 'tallying' of the Manhours will not get carried forward to the Summary.

EstimatorVJ calculates the Mhrs in a slightly different way when Printing and On-screen display. This enables a CHECK that all worksheets are operating correctly, by comparing the Mhrs value on a printed Summary showing Mhrs, and the total Mhrs shown on-screen.

If they do not match, then one or more worksheets do not include the Mhrs column with the correct attributes.

Comparing at various levels will eventually show where the discrepancy lies.
