REINSTALLING ESTIMATORVJ

Generally

If for some reason, EstimatorVJ either won't start or behaves erratically,  the best and easily resolution is to reinstall the software.

Reinstalling Procedure

The following steps will ensure a clean installation of EstimatorVJ:

  1. Copy the folder "..../JEstimator/Estdata" onto your desktop
  2. Delete the program
    1. On Windows: (This may require an Administrator or Administrator Password access)
      1. Restart 'Windows'
      2. Open Control Panel and run the option 'Remove Software'
      3. Uninstall 'EstimatorVJ'
      4. Check to see if the '.../JEstimator' folder has been removed. If it hasn't you will need to 'Delete' this folder.
        The default location of 'JEstimator' is the 'Program Files' folder
    2. On Macintosh:
      1. Delete the '.../JEstimator' folder
        The default location of the 'JEstimator' folder is 'Applications'
  3. Go to the CCSi website (www.ccsi.com.au) and reinstall EstimatorVJ
  4. Copy the 'Estdata' folder on your desktop (from point 1. above) into your 'JEstimator' folder.
  5. Start EstimatorVJ up
  6. VJ will automatically start the process of uploading the latest version as indicated below:
    DO NOT CLOSE VJ UNTIL THE UPDATE IS COMPLETE
  7. Once VJ has finished the upload, it will advise 'Checking for Updates Complete'
  8. Restart EstimatorVJ and click the 'Update' button when requested:

  9. Done.
