Problem:
An error message indicating that copying the Project to the Deleted Projects folder failed.
In this case the project will not be deleted.
Solution:
Manually delete the Project backup from the 'Estdata8/Deleted Projects' folder.
Another User prevents this Operation
Problem:
This message appears when you attempt to edit a Worksheet.
Solution:
Make sure no one else is working on this project - if they are and you proceed with the next step, it is possible for two people to edit the same worksheet. The contents of this worksheet will then be that of the last user to close the worksheet.
Click the 'Unlock' button in the Projects TAB.
Problem:
The Section Totals are not being displayed in the Project Window but the project Cost is.
Reason:
The Project Window in addition to other things, shows the contents of the Section List AND the current Total of each Section. The Total of each section is picked up from the Total of the 'Value Column' in the Estimate Section Worksheet. This Total is then displayed in the column which has been classified as the 'Value Column' in the Section List.
Solution:
Edit the Section List; in the Project Window, click the 'Edit' TAB and then the 'Section Names' button.
CTRL+click the heading of the Column you wish to display the Section Total in - a popupmenu will appear. Click the 'Is Value Column' option and close this worksheet by hitting the ESC key or clicking the Close Box with your mouse.
The totals should now appear.
Problem:
I have access to the Internet but Estimator VJ says it cannot contact the Account Server.
Solution:
In most cases this is because your computer is sitting behind a Fire Wall blocking EstimatorVJ from contacting the Account Server.
EstimatorVJ contacts the Account Server at "ccsi.com.au" on port 3306 using the standard MySQL JConnector.
You may need to contact your Administrator with these details so he can release the "block".
If this is not possible, then you will need to Log In via Telephone by clicking the
button at 'Log In', and follow the OnScreen instructions.
Resources Don't come across when copying data from another Project
Problem:
I am copying and pasting data from another project into my current project, but resources contained within the data are not appearing in my current project Resource Library.
Solution:
Make sure that the Section Names entries are unique. The program will SEARCH for the first occurrence of the TO and FROM selections in the Section names list and use the first one encountered. Consequently if you have two entries with the same Code and Section name, then choose to print TO the second/last, it will print TO the first one.
Underlining, Bolding, or Italics not Working in Project Window
Solution:
The font you have selected does not support one or all of these effects so choose another font which does. 'Helvetica', 'Times Roman', 'Arial' are all common fonts that support all of these effects.
ManHours not Correct in Reports
Problem:
The manhours quantity shown in the 'Mhrs' column of reports is not correct.
Solution:
The quantity calculated by the program for 'Mhrs' is precisely the quantity of all items which have a Cost Category starting with 'LA' AND a Unit starting with 'MHR' or 'HR'.
Also, this process ignores the sign of any rate. If a rate is negative, this has no effect on the Mhrs calculation.
