DragnDrop is a process whereby a data source (created by selecting/ranging data either within the current application or an external application) is dragged and dropped onto another or the same application.

As far as EstimatorVJ is concerned, the source can be an external spreadsheet, an external text processor, an EstimatorVJ worksheet, or an EstimatorVJ LookUp table. Unfortunately data cannot be transferred in this way to previous versions of Estimator as they do not support DragnDrop.

The destination can either be an spreadsheet, and external text processor, or a worksheet in EstimatorVJ. As the source data is dragged over an EstimatorVJ worksheet, the cell receiving the start of the Drop will be shown - this cell is known as the 'drop cell'.

By convention, when you drag and drop within the same Window, the process MOVES the data - in other words, the source data is first copied to the destination, and then removed from the source.

Also by convention, when you drag and drop between different windows, the process COPIES the data - in other words after the data is copied to the destination, it is left intact at the source.

Copying the source data is achieved by pressing the 'CTRL' key when dropping the data - you will see the cursor change during the drag process to signify this.

A word of WARNING - Excel in particular does not obey this convention - if you drag the data from Excel into an EstimatorVJ worksheet, make sure you press the CTRL key when dropping.
